Rushcliffe School

Nottingham

Urban Wilderness was commissioned to provide planning support, followed by the detailed design of external spaces for a new Language, Music and Drama building within the existing school complex. The design required a sensitive approach to existing trees in and around the site, whilst creating a usable area of public realm for building access, egress and site wide circulation. Moreover the site’s complex levels meant that the landscape needed to work hard to create an environment that accessible for all. A key component of the design was to maintain ones sense of arrival to the wider school site whilst effectively integrating the new block into the landscape.

Look who's involved

“Working with Church Lukas Architects is always a rewarding and collaborative design conversation. The interface between the architecture and landscape design was an important driver for Rushcliffe School, alongside a design which needed to overcome complex level changes so that the building was accessible by all.”
