Ella is a gardener, a socially engaged artist and maker of many sorts!
Ella recently graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2019 with a Masters in Landscape Architecture. Her final project created an agroforestry system and residential retreat centre for young people with cancer at a Lake District Farm. This brought together Ella’s previous experiences and interests, in landscape for wellbeing and alternative agricultural systems.
Prior to studying Landscape, Ella lived in London and worked on a range of community arts and therapeutic horticultural projects. Working for a range of organisations including small grassroots & national charities, museums and adventure playgrounds. Roles included delivering horticultural sessions, fundraising, managing corporate volunteer days, designing & constructing structures from treehouses to compost loos!
Always up for an adventure and to experience new things, Ella won the Landscape Institute Travel Award in 2018. She traveled to America to explore iconic and historic landscape sites in New York and Boston, while contrasting this to working and visiting permaculture smallholdings in Vermont.
